Seamless gutters built on site for Mint Hill homes
Nearly every gutter installation we do is 5-inch or 6-inch seamless aluminum. We run .032 aluminum coil through the machine on our truck and cut one piece for each side of the roof, so the only seams are the corners and end caps, and we seal both. You pick K-style, half-round or box, in a color to match your trim.
Every run hangs on heavy-duty hidden hangers screwed into the fascia, with strip miters and stainless zip screws at the corners.
5-inch or 6-inch: sizing for Mint Hill tree cover
Charlotte's short, heavy rainstorms can send a lot of water off your roof in just a few minutes. A 6-inch gutter handles more water than a 5-inch, which makes it the better option for those downpours, especially on steep roofs and long gutter runs. For most homes in the Charlotte area, we recommend 6-inch gutters. We rarely install 5-inch anymore: 6-inch runs about 10% more, and in almost every case it's worth it.
A lot of Mint Hill sits under mature pines and oaks, and under those 3x4 downspouts clog less than 2x3.
Gutter replacement in Mint Hill
Most of the gutter work we do is replacement. Gutters usually last about 20 years, and getting the old ones off is half the job. We tear them off and haul them away, and if the fascia behind them has rotted, we replace that wood before anything new goes up. It's time to replace when you see:
- A gutter that sags or has pulled away from the fascia board
- Water running down behind the gutter instead of into it
- Gutter spikes and nails turning up in the yard
- Seams leaking at nearly every joint
Replace or repair?
We'll tell you which one you need. A loose section, a leaking corner or a run with the pitch off is a gutter repair, and most repairs run $250 to $700, more if the fascia behind it has rotted. Several problems at once usually means the system is worn out, and patching it only buys you a season.
Gutter guards for Mint Hill pines and oaks
Pine needles are the problem out here. They're thin, they drop all year and they slide through coarse screens. Under mature pines, micro-mesh is the only guard I'll put on your house. For oaks and other broad leaves we also carry aluminum mesh, perforated aluminum and solid covers.
Guards cut the upkeep to a look and a rinse once a year, but they don't end it, since spring pollen still settles on top. The cheapest time to add them is during the install, while the ladders are up. ONE and Lock n Mesh, our primary systems, carry a lifetime material warranty from the manufacturer. There's more on our gutter guards page.
What gutter installation costs in Mint Hill
On a typical 2,000 to 3,000 square foot home, a full seamless gutter replacement runs $3,300 to $4,700 installed, or $4,800 to $8,450 with gutter guards. Smaller homes start around $1,650. Those numbers come from our own price sheet, and the full table by house size is on our gutter installation page.
What moves your number: the linear feet of gutter, one story or two, 5-inch or 6-inch, how many downspouts the house needs, tearing off the old gutters, how much fascia needs replacing, and whether you add guards.
Financing is available at 0% interest for 24 months through Wisetack, on a $500 deposit.
